I have made an owl hat!

A Mom at taekwondo is expecting and invited me to her baby shower the end of next month. A couple weeks ago, in passing, she showed me a picture on Pinterest of an owl hat that she just loved—without asking me to knit it for her. So I found the picture, and tried to reproduce it.

I love it! I’m going to use the gold from the beak to knit some little garter stitch booties.

Trip to Greeneville tomorrow to watch Tony’s baby sister walk in her highschool graduation, and following family time and dinner.

He wants to get up at 5 again to keep in with the new schedule he’s trying to get his body used to. O_• I told him we could get up and workout then, before we have to get the kids ready to leave for the day… but honestly I’d rather sleep til 8.

I have SIX 3” squares left to crochet before I’ve completed March’s squares, but my back and arms (and butt and legs) are so sore tonight working the crochet hook is making my arms hurt. Again: O_•

I love day shift. I hate ants. I love that Hannah’s writing “Best Friends Hannah Caitie Love Heart” on everything. I hate fibro. I love Taco Bell.

Wise words from Tony tonight when I whined that working out was supposed to make you smaller: Noooo… DIET and working out makes you smaller. Working out and eating whatever you want just makes your muscles harder underneath your fat.

Sigh.

Decided against grocery shopping. Hurting too badly after sitting at taekwondo for an hour and a half.

Came home to find Tony watching Cry-baby. Not sure how I feel about this movie. Shrugs.

Need to do dishes. Need to update my sky chart. Need to make gold owl-feet baby booties. :-D

I drank my requisite 2 cups of coffee while crochetting a circle and watching Doctor Who in peace before my children awoke, but then I moved two kitchen cabinets and the stove, swept and mopped under them, and sprinkled the floor with borax before I put them back.

I am beyond tired of ants. I believe that calls for more coffee, another circle and more Who while Jeremiah does school online.

Does anyone know if borax will poison my cat though?

Finished pillow with the quote from Wuthering Heights. I used the wonky chevron fabric as the backing too. I actually bought a 16” pillow form to stuff this one, and I wish I’d just used poly-fill like the rest of them because the pillow form didn’t stuff the corners.

Sort of side view of the pillow I made with a cotton granny square on the front. I used Lily and Cream cotton yarn in Navy. I used the entire skein, which gave me I believe a 13” square. The yellow fabric has very tiny little white polka dots on it.

All the throw pillows so far. I used the scrap leftover from the crochet pillow to make a small wonky bolster type pillow.

I think I’ve absolutely figured out the bench pad situation… a quilt needs to be constructed, but that might have to wait for another day.

Today has been long. It was a good day, but I’m glad it’s winding down.
I worked twice, Jeremiah had taekwondo.

Tony picked the kids up from me at work and took them to see Iron Man 3.

I ended up getting off of work early, and instead of going home to take a shower and a nap, I walked around Old Navy ALL BY MYSELF with no one trying to run off, or climb in a clothing rack. I tried on and bought a beautiful white dress that was clearanced to a rediculously low amount.

Then I walked around Target ALL BY MYSELF and no one begged for anything and I got a free Venti iced coffee from the Starbucks, which is a long and slightly boringn story but free coffee.
Then I decide I need to lose specifically 14lbs while I was waiting to meet Tony and the kids for frozen yogurt.

I’m ready for bed, and for going relatively nowhere tomorrow if we can help it. I have a quilt lurking in my head, and since the house is fairly clean, if we stay home I might be able to begin to let it out.
