Mom: After the funeral Betsy told cousin Carol that I had to take out my belly button ring because it didn't heal right.
Me: That's awesome! I'm suddenly addicted to the idea of throw pillows.
Mom: LoL! You will never stop having to pick up pillows off the floor. I hated that couch we had in FL.
Me: Yes, but I've found so many awesome DIY ones on Pinterest. Santa needs to bring me 407 12"-18" pillow forms.
Mom: Ok. Or some muslin and 32 bags of fiberfill.
Me: hmm... I never thought of it that way.

I wish someone would bring me a a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks and rub my back. I may have gone a little anal retentive with the mopping and wet-dusting last night and now I am hurting all over.

Halloween take one
I keep getting suckered into pumpkins. A friend gave us those 4 little 3” pumpkins I carved 2 days ago. The kids complained I didn’t have a pumpkin, so we stopped by Kroger to get one and all they had were pie pumpkins. I bought one and on the way home the kids reminded me that I had promised to take them to the HUGE pumpkin patch they set up in town this year, instead of getting a...

I went with the long tailed cast on. It hasn’t failed me in 15yrs. Why start now? Plus I couldn’t understand how to do the cabled cast on. Phooey. I am so itchy tonight. I feel like I need to take benadryl. I was looking thru my old blog tonight and I have a sudden desire to clean my house. Hungry.

When a friend gives you 3" pumpkins
You carve them with the emblem for the roomie and the hubby’s favorite football teams. The kids got a one-toothed smile and a vampire as well.

At least there's that
I made boneless bbq spareribs on the grill, in the dark. (I boiled them first so no worries about them being cooked). I used my own special Kraft bbq sauce. (What, I’m busy.) I made fresh broccoli and Zataran’s rice pilaf (because our sodium intake for the entire week needed to be consumed tonight before it expired.) Afterward I cleaned the grill with all ferocity. Then I broke...

It's done! OH THANK YOU JESUS IT'S DONE!
It’s in the washer now and once it’s dry all I have to do with it is deliver it and get PAID.  I am so glad it’s done.  I hated every minute of making this quilt.  Debating on whether I want to make the 2nd one for the woman or not.  Tough decisions.

Finally got out of the bathroom and got to bed at 1:30. Now I’m up and I’m starving and my stomach is rumbling but I’m afraid to eat. I hate my life. No, not really.  I hate Burger King’s life.  There we go.

I ate Burger King for lunch and now I think I'm...
Every freaking time.  EVERY FREAKING TIME I eat at ANY Burger King ANY WHERE in this country I get the stomach ache from hell.  Every time. But Tony asked me what I wanted for lunch.  A Whopper sounded sooo good.  It had been forever since I’d eaten one.  I even remarked that oh well, if it upset my stomach I could stand to lose a couple pounds anyway. I am totally eating my words.

Halloween Party
Tara is Wonder Woman. For reals people.  She has 3 kids under 3 and a 6yr old.  She’s a full-time nurse, in school for her doctorate.  Her husband is in nursing school full time.  They had a Halloween party tonight.  She started baking and fixing yesterday. She outdid herself.  There were carrot fingers with green pepper nails, orange heads with jello brains, hot dog mummies, spider...

The purple actually got another dose and it’s now black, and the white will be a true purple when I buy some dye—can’t get it with koolaid.  The socks will stripe black and purple with the occasional blip of bright orange.  :-D 10pointstojessie replied to your photo: Ghoulishly dyeing self-striping sock yarn with… purple, orange, and white? that’s going to be some fantastic...

Hannah's first pedicure!
I am a sucker.  Also, I learned from the best to be a nurturer even if it’s not exactly my cup of tea.  Hannah is a princess.  She’s girly, sparkly, flowery, ruffly…  I’m not.  I had a friend when I was a kid who had tea parties all the time.  I used to cry when Mom made me go.  Jeremiah has been feeling a little left out since his baby sister got big enough to go on his...

Throwback Thursday the 3rd
I had a bad day. Then I come home to find my 3yo costumed self on the internets.  *resigned sigh*  The hubby and the roomie got a big kick out of this one, and the Little Mermaid one too. mysevenkids: This was our church “Harvest Party.”  Desiree (hamncheezr) and her bff Meghann Yopp wanted Prairie Girl costumes, so I made them both one, including the matching bonnets.  1989 so Des was 3 1/2...

The Smart Toys and Books toy store in Knoxville is having a “Princess Tea” on November 5th.   They’re using real tea sets, nibbling on cookies, having the children come dressed up as princesses in their tea-party finest.  They want them to bring a dolly dressed like a princess and Cinderella herself with be there conducting the tea, taking pictures with the children, and leading...

I cleaned off my mantle which had apparently become the resting grounds for skeins of yarn leftover after I was done knitting whatever project I was knitting with them. Now I’m sitting here watching Howl’s Moving Castle to celebrate the fact that the book version came in the mail today, winding leftover skeins of yarn into balls.  Heh.  I now have lots of balls.  BIG BALLS!  BRIGHTLY...

More tentacles than a Snarfalump plant
Found this pattern called Gripping which is basically just little knit tentacles to use up bits of yarn.  The pattern photos show ones of different sizes stuffed into a bowl and I LOVE it!!!  What a great little way to get rid of these leftover bits I’ve got everywhere! My first “tentacle” came out a little small, and not very curvy, but I guess that’s what I get for using...

Dinner.
I made Chicken a la King type stuff in puff pastries. I say stuff because I don’t know how to make chicken a la king so I made chicken soup and put green beans and corn in it LOL! The puff pastries were still a little doughy inside but would have been burned on the outside if I baked them any longer. Oh well. The chicken soup stuff was delicious and I doused mine with hot sauce.

Thermal Weasleys
Aka Fred & George. Harry Potter inspired socks for my Dad for Christmas. I’m working on the pattern for these, as they turned out massively comfortable and able to fit a range of sizes— these socks fit on a woman’s size 7.5 and a man’s size 10.5 shoe. I hand-dyed the yarn myself with Kool-Aid. I hope he likes them!!

Been another long day. I finished piecing the Quilt from Hell, pieced the backing and packed everything I’d need to pin it out and quilt it in a tote to take to Mom’s so I could use her sewing machine. Took Hannah to ballet, where she actually participated again! So happy!! Books back to the library. Jeremiah to taekwondo. Off to Mom’s to pin out and quilt the quilt....

The skeleton bits I made. I bought a candy mold of random bone bits from JoAnn fabrics for $2 and melted white chocolate. The mold actually made 2 dismembered skeletons so between the brownies tonight and the trial run last week I had to fill the mold 6x. The good news is that once I popped it in the fridge the cooled chocolate bits were ready to turn out in about 5 minutes. I kept them in a...

Not to be all whiny and emo
but I am. I am in tears over the thought of having to go to this halloween party. I don’t know why. It’s the TaeKwonDo party— all people I see almost every day, though I don’t ever talk to any of them. I’m not even upset about being there, per se, it’s just I’m upset about not being here. I want to stay home. If I hadn’t just had the period from...
